Exhibition Announcement: Sarah Hoskins' "The Postcard Project"

PCPP is pleased to announce our latest project, a virtual exhibition of work by photographer and documentarian, Sarah Hoskins and her students. The Postcard Project resulted from Hoskins’ photography curriculum which she has developed and taught for over 20 years of working as an educator in Chicago. The majority of the work featured in the exhibition was made by Hoskin’s students at Marwen, an organization that provides free visual arts programming to children from under-resourced schools and communities in Chicago. Hoskins began this project in hopes of facilitating close relationships between her students and establishing a greater understanding between the classmates who all came from diverse backgrounds and experiences. This virtual exhibition provides a small glimpse into the world of Hoskins’ students, as they share a piece of their neighborhood through a single photograph and short statement depicted on a postcard. To learn more about The Postcard Project, take a look back at an interview we conducted with Hoskins in October that explores her history as an educator and motivations for this series.
